Principal Robyn Smith-Herr and teachers Jennifer Ptaszek and Kristi Schmitz presented Belle River Elementary's 'Make a Splash' Sturgeon Science program to the Board on Sept. 22.
Teachers and fifth-grade students shared a slideshow explaining how the Sturgeon Science curriculum works and described a new Watershed Pen Pal program organized in coordination with The Friends of the St. Clair River and St. Clair County RESA. The presentation highlighted hands-on learning opportunities and community partnership elements.
The Board received the presentation during the academic spotlight portion of the meeting; no Board action was associated with the program at this session.
