Martin Board accepts 2023–24 audit and unanimously approves personnel changes

The Martin Board of Education on Sept. 16 accepted the district—s 2023—6 audit and approved a slate of personnel changes for the 2024—7 school year.
Nick West and Tom Jury of accounting firm Maner Costerisan presented the audit to the board; Supt. Samantha Ball thanked them for their work during the audit process. The board then moved to its consent business and voted to approve the Aug. 12 meeting minutes.
The administration recommended hiring Sara Robinson as elementary secretary; Kelly Johnson as custodian; Jaylynn Knight and Bethany Kennedy as elementary paraprofessionals. It also recommended accepting the resignations of Carol Wrobleski (custodian) and Carter Hilton (7th-grade boys basketball coach). President M. Conley moved to approve the personnel recommendations, and trustee E. Curry supported the motion. The vote was recorded as unanimous among members present.
The motions on the consent agenda and on personnel were supported in open session by board officers and trustees. Secretary T. Beilby seconded the consent-agenda motion. Board membership present at the vote included T. Beilby, B. Branch, J. Brinkhuis, M. Conley, J. Dykstra and E. Curry; V. Tuinstra was absent.
The board did not announce additional budget adjustments during the meeting; the session had been called for the annual budget hearing but no budget figures were presented in open remarks.
The meeting adjourned at 6:42 p.m.
