Fairview board approves 2025–26 calendar, awards flooring and paving contracts, accepts custodian resignation

The Fairview Area Schools Board of Education on April 14 approved the district’s tentative 2025–26 school calendar, awarded two vendor contracts for facilities work and accepted a custodian’s resignation.
The motion to approve the 2025–26 calendar was moved and seconded and carried on a unanimous voice vote, Ayes 7, Nays 0. The board then approved a $10,666.80 bid from Stanson Floor Covering to replace carpeting in three classrooms and a $13,860.00 bid from Northern Seal Coating to repair, seal and stripe the parking lots; both contract motions passed 7–0.
The board also accepted a letter of resignation from custodian Bill Partridge. The acceptance motion (mover: Gary Wnuk; second: Ryan King) passed unanimously.
Superintendent Troy Ross earlier thanked the public for support during the district’s recent ice storm and said the district is awaiting State guidance on whether missed school days will be waived or must be made up.
