The Afton Town Council voted on Oct. 10 to adopt Ordinance 643, re-zoning lots two through nine in the NE1/4NE1/4 of Section 24 to Mixed Commercial and Industrial (MCI) while leaving lots one and ten as General Commercial District (GCD). Mayor Joel Neuenschwander presented the ordinance and the accompanying Development Agreement for the North Afton Business Park Addition.
Council Member Jason C. Inskeep moved to pass Ordinance 643 on third and final reading, to approve the Development Agreement for the North Afton Business Park Addition, and to authorize the mayor to sign the final plat. Council Member Tom Davis seconded the motion, which carried. The council directed that the town zoning map be revised to reflect the change.
The ordinance record submitted with the meeting identifies Joe and Sharon Dory as the applicants requesting the zoning change and states that required notices were published and mailed to affected property owners and that the change is consistent with the Town Master Plan. The ordinance text directs that the land be replatted and hereafter known as the North Afton Business Park Addition.
The action completes the third and final reading required for adoption. The council’s proceedings do not include an itemized vote tally by member; the minutes record that the motion "carried."
