Commissioners set dates, add operator house-rule items and audit topics to upcoming agendas

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission on April 29 confirmed meeting dates through August, penciled in the first triennial presentations for June 25 and adjusted upcoming agendas to accommodate operator house rules, audit topics and a Caesars race-book app integration.

Chair Jordan Maynard walked through packet dates spanning May 7 to August 27 and noted the Niagara conference and other calendar conflicts. Commissioners agreed to hold June 25 for the first triennial presentations.

Commissioners asked staff to add operator matters to the May 7 and May 21 agendas, including house-rule items for BetMGM, MGM and FanDuel and to move the Caesars race-book app integration from May 7 to May 21. "Could we add BetMGM and MGM house rules and also FanDuel house rules?" one commissioner asked. Staff allocated 15 minutes for each operator item and about 20 minutes for the Caesars integration to allow buffer time.

Staff also flagged FY27 sports wagering audit topics for Commission approval and described a proposed 30-minute slot for that discussion. Chief/Director Brenda Lennon said the EBH quarterly report usually takes 30–45 minutes and that her item would be scheduled for June 18 rather than June 4. Other housekeeping items noted for future agendas included an exemption request, a PPC beverage-license amendment and the first pass at the FY27 budget.

Why it matters: The agenda-setting meeting determines which substantive items appear on future business agendas and how much time staff and commissioners should budget for operator presentations, audits and regulatory matters.

Next steps: Staff will place the listed operator house rules, Caesars integration, EBH quarterly report, exemption request and audit topics on the advertised business agendas for May and June as discussed.
