Sullivan's Island Town Council on March 18 ratified Ordinance 2024-09 to adopt the town's updated five-year Comprehensive Plan.
Planning consultant Charles Drayton reviewed revisions to the plan that the council highlighted as important, including explicit language supporting aging-in-place policies and goals and objectives for Nature Trail phases two and three. Drayton told council that the full plan and all updates are available on the Town website. There were no public speakers at the public hearing for the plan.
Councilmember Gary Visser moved to approve and ratify third reading of Ordinance 2024-09; Councilmember Scott Millimet seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
The updated Comprehensive Plan will guide town goals and land-use policy for the next five years; implementation steps and budget implications will be addressed in committee and future council agendas.
