Darien council reviews Dec. 16 agenda, holds executive session on personnel

Mayor Hugh “Bubba” Hodge called the City of Darien work session to order at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 15 in the David Bluestein Meeting Room at City Hall. Present were Mayor Hodge; Mayor Pro-tem Griffin Lotson; Councilmembers William Collins, Russ Quarterman and Jeff Ragsdale; City Clerk Priscilla Taylor; City Manager Holden Osburn; and City Attorney Sam Oliver.
Councilmembers discussed the agenda for the regular council meeting scheduled for Dec. 16, 2025. No motions or formal votes were recorded on any agenda items during the work session, and staff did not record substantive board action on those items.
At 5:58 p.m. Mayor Pro-tem Griffin Lotson moved, and Councilmember William Collins seconded, that the council go into an executive session "Personnel." The motion carried unanimously; the minutes record the outcome as "Motion carried unanimously." The minutes do not list individual roll-call votes.
The council reconvened from the executive session at 6:20 p.m. after a motion by Mayor Pro-tem Lotson, seconded by Councilmember Russ Quarterman, to come out of executive session and resume the work session; that motion also carried unanimously. With no further business, Mayor Hodge adjourned the meeting at 6:21 p.m. City Clerk Priscilla Taylor signed the minutes.
