Surgoinsville approves sewer manuals, emergency repair and small purchases; tables FTDD contract

At its April 13 meeting the Surgoinsville Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved multiple consent and procurement items, including standard operating and O&M manuals for the town’s STEP sewer system, an emergency repair to a brush truck, and several small equipment and facilities purchases.
The board approved an emergency purchase from Central Hydraulics, Inc. for $609.14 to repair a brush truck (account 110-43190-332). Alderman Hoss moved the emergency purchase and Alderman Sandidge seconded; the minutes record a unanimous roll-call vote in favor.
The board approved the Town of Surgoinsville STEP Sewer Standard Operating Procedures and the STEP O&M Manual. Alderman Bishop moved and Alderman Hoss seconded; the vote was unanimous.
Recorder Megan Gentry was authorized to select Big Creek Services LLC to install LVP flooring in City Hall for up to $3,000 (account 110-41810-266). Alderman Mierek moved and Alderman Sandidge seconded; a roll-call vote was taken with Vice Mayor Collier recorded as voting no. The minutes note the vote but do not publish how each member voted beyond Collier’s opposition.
The board also authorized Brandon Depew to purchase a sprayer for use with asphalt, up to $3,000 (account 110-43190-268); Alderman Hoss moved and Alderman Sandidge seconded and the vote was unanimous. The board acknowledged it was not awarded TDOT’s Transportation Planning Grant and tabled a contract with First Tennessee Development District (FTDD) for local planning advisory services after Vice Mayor Collier requested additional discussion with FTDD.
