The Marlette City Council received the first reading of the Semco Grant Franchise Ordinance No. 01/2024 at its Oct. 7 meeting. City Manager Rudzis presented the ordinance and said council would reconsider and vote on it at the November council meeting.
Mayor Charles Bush requested a specific wording change: replacing the term “supervisor” with “city manager.” Council members agreed that the two authorized signers for the ordinance should be the City Manager and the City Clerk rather than the previously stated signatory arrangement. No formal vote on the ordinance was taken; the item will return to the council in November for final consideration.
