Board approves districtwide wireless refresh and UPS replacements using federal funds and bond allocation

Staff presented a recommendation from a recent procurement process, saying the district received five responses for the wireless refresh and recommended the lowest qualified bidder, Incom Technical Services, using Cisco wireless solutions with seven-year licensing. For UPS replacement the administration recommended Delta Networks (Eaton UPS systems) as the lowest qualified bidder; the work includes installation and disposal.
The presenter said the purchase will use available federal funds to offset costs and the remainder will come from the district’s technology bond allocation. A board member asked whether “lowest qualified bidder” meant the lowest cost qualified bidder; staff confirmed that the evaluation combined qualification and apples-to-apples cost comparison.
The motion to approve the network wireless access refresh carried with seven yes votes.
