Town to advertise INDOT-funded project; Choice One bid-prep fee of $4,200 approved
Summary
Town staff said Senate Bill 179 made extra CCMG funding available; INDOT requires the town to advertise and open bids and will determine awards. The board approved a $4,200 agreement with Choice One to prepare advertising and bidding documents; bids will open March 26 at 1 p.m. at the fire station.

Justin reported that Senate Bill 179 "passed out of the Senate and was signed" and that the measure "covered extra funding for CCMG," which affects an upcoming town project. He said INDOT told the town it may advertise and open bids locally but that INDOT will make the final determination on which projects receive funding and which bids are eligible.
Justin said he "contacted Choice One" after receiving INDOT’s guidance; Choice One proposed an agreement to prepare advertising and bidding documents and related services for $4,200. "If we sign that then we'll get this prepared," Justin said, and he told the board that a bid-opening is scheduled for March 26 at 1:00 p.m. at the fire station.
A board member moved to proceed with the Choice One agreement; a second was recorded and the motion carried by voice consent. No roll-call vote or individual tallies were recorded in the transcript.
The board did not take a final position on project awards; Justin said INDOT would later return a determination on funding eligibility and award decisions.
