Commissioners and staff discussed specific vehicle substitutions and mission needs: one quoted reason for shifting from three‑quarter‑ton trucks to F‑150s was that several units primarily transport a single person and a fuel tank rather than heavier payloads; another change favored Chevy Silverados for two crew‑cab replacements where acquisition and monthly costs were lower. The group also noted a late addition: a proposed 2027 Ford Expedition for a sheriff’s office vehicle, pending final aftermarket radio and visor costs.
Staff emphasized urgency on ordering the 2026 F‑150 models, which Enterprise said could close orders at the end of June or in early July. Commissioners asked for a price comparison between the Expedition and a Tahoe before final purchase decisions.
