The Ashland Board of Health voted unanimously on June 2 to grant The Lanterns at Warren Woods a two-year waiver from the Massachusetts lifeguard requirement under the cited code provision, with the Health Director tasked to perform random inspections.
Richard Zetlin, the Lanterns' representative, requested the waiver. Health Director Rajit Gupta told the Board the facility had passed its most recent pool inspection and that no issues had been reported. Chair Ed Burman moved to grant the waiver for two years with the condition of random inspections; the motion was seconded by Vice Chair Byrnes and approved by roll-call vote (Burman—aye; Byrnes—aye; Kinsman—aye).
The waiver references the state pool standard cited in the request (MA State Code 105-CRM-435.23). The Board did not attach additional conditions beyond periodic inspections by the Health Director, and no public comments were recorded on the item.
