Ferndale Schools board approves consent agenda, names MASB delegates and OKs dynamic plan facilitator

The Ferndale Schools Board of Education on Sept. 16 unanimously approved its consent agenda, named MASB delegates for the annual leadership conference and approved a dynamic plan facilitator.
The board voted 5-0 to approve the consent agenda, which the packet said included minutes from recent special and regular meetings, personnel actions (new hires, resignations and transfers), bills and accounts for August, and authorization to submit the 2025 Head Start Grant application. Board member Peter moved the motion; Jonathan seconded and the roll call showed five yes votes.
In separate action the board approved standing delegates to represent the district at the Michigan Association of School Boards leadership conference. Jonathan moved the MASB-delegate motion; Sarah seconded. The motion passed on a roll-call vote.
The board also considered and approved hiring a facilitator to support the district's dynamic planning work. Board member Jen moved the motion and Sarah seconded. Multiple board members praised the facilitator selection during discussion, saying the plan balances transparency, community input and cost considerations. The motion passed by recorded vote.
