The Lafayette City Council handled several routine administrative items, including taking construction bids under advisement, approving a community special-event request and approving a festival banner.
Clerk announced three bids for the Trice Meadows Concrete Project Phase One: Promised Land Construction ($228,757.00), Dixon Construction ($197,469.00) and Milestone ($472,329.80). The council moved to take the bids under advisement.
During miscellaneous business, an event organizer, Yolanda Williams, requested a special-event permit for a Faithwalk Church block party on July 18 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Williams said the event would provide food and outreach to unhoused individuals; she provided good-neighbor letters. The council moved, seconded and approved the permit by voice vote.
The council also approved a banner request for German Fest by voice vote; no substantive discussion was recorded.
Other routine business included approval of last week's minutes and an announcement that there were no claims on the docket.
