Denison council approves temporary AT&T site license, okays $2,500 drunk-driving display

The Denison City Council approved a Temporary Site License with AT&T (New Cingular Wireless PCS, LLC and affiliates) and authorized a $2,500 purchase of a Drunk Driving Display from Rice Trailer Co. during its Jan. 21 meeting.
City staff reported the temporary site license would renew at $1,000 per month and remain in effect until a permanent structure is erected. On a motion by Miller, seconded by Zupp-Smith, the council approved the Temporary Site License unanimously.
The council then approved a $2,500 quote from Rice Trailer Co. for a drunk-driving awareness display, again by unanimous vote (motion by Zupp-Smith, seconded by Miller). Council requested staff obtain additional insurance quotes for the display before final placement and operation.
No conditions or further items were specified for the AT&T license at the meeting; staff are expected to finalize the license paperwork and insurance arrangements.
