BOF approves up to $25,000 for repairs at 67 Main Street

First Selectman Flanagan presented a proposal from J.A.B. Remodeling, LLC — which previously worked on the building — to perform repairs at 67 Main Street, including repairs to the back and front decks and replacement and rebuilding of the basement Bilco door opening. The estimate to furnish materials and labor is $25,000; painting of wood areas would be quoted after repairs are completed.
Because these funds would come from the separate 67 Main Street Account, the town auditor advised that the Board of Finance could approve the expenditure without taking it to Town Meeting. Mr. Bartram moved to accept the J.A.B. Remodeling estimate not to exceed $25,000, seconded by Mrs. Toppan; the motion passed unanimously.
The Board did not approve any painting estimate at this meeting; members directed staff to obtain a painting estimate after repairs are completed.
