At the May 13 meeting the chair announced that Commissioner Caroline Bolter would not seek reappointment to the Westport Historical Commission when her term ended on June 30. The chair publicly thanked Bolter for her service and said she had mentored and trained the current clerk.
Commission members noted Bolter’s role training a successor and described her decision not to be reappointed. The chair said the commission will present Mark Thompson (previously an alternate voting in place of an absent member at this meeting) to the appointing authority to be moved to full member status at the July 20 appointment list; commissioners characterized that step as a formality because Thompson is already sworn in and compliant with conflicts rules.
Members also discussed monitor assignments arising from Bolter’s departure and agreed on volunteers to cover outstanding monitoring duties.
