Davis County approves nearly $900,000 amendment to interlocal policing agreement with West Point City

Chief Deputy Arnold Butcher told commissioners the amendment establishes a receivable of $899,126.56 for the July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027 contract year; the county anticipates the amount will increase incrementally in future years depending on USDA funding and municipal contributions.
Commissioner Bob Stevenson praised West Point City for "stepping up to match service levels," noting the city's support was particularly important after a recent homicide investigation that required significant manpower from the Sheriff's Office. Chief Deputy Butcher acknowledged the collaboration and said Controller Scott Parke was integral to negotiations.
The Commission also approved a warranty agreement with Hogan & Associates Construction, Inc., and Ram Exteriors, Inc., covering Emergency Operations Center construction services (warranty period through 2033), and Amendment to a Cooperative Law Enforcement Agreement with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Uinta‑Wasatch‑Cache National Forest that increases funding to $15,000 through 12/31/2030.
All items were approved by unanimous vote. The Sheriff's Office will proceed with contract administration and invoice processing for the West Point agreement and update the Commission if funding projections change.
