The applicant told the commission they planned to add wood slats between sections of an existing black aluminum fence along Keller Street to increase privacy, stain the boards a darker color and limit the change to the side that runs by a tennis court. "We were trying out to see if it would work . . . to add some wood slats between to give us some more privacy," the fence applicant said at the podium.
Commissioners asked about how the new slats would connect to the existing bamboo and chain-link fencing around the tennis court and confirmed the fence height referenced in the record as a 12-foot fence. After brief discussion a motion to approve the certificate was made, seconded and approved on a voice vote; the commission recorded assent with members answering "I."
Staff did not record any public opposition during the meeting. The applicant said they will stain the boards a color similar to the sample shown to the commission.
The action authorizes the visual modification to the existing fence but does not specify construction timing or contractor; follow-up with building or permitting staff may be required before work begins.
