Mayor Jim Hussong presided over a special session of the Arnolds Park City Council on June 23, 2026, where the council unanimously approved several procurement and fiscal actions related to the new Civic Complex and year-end budget adjustments.
Councilmember Adams moved and Councilmember Pas seconded a motion to approve furniture packages recommended from Office Elements and Library Furniture International for the new Arnolds Park Civic Complex, with minor reductions to be determined by department heads. The motion passed on a 4-0 vote; Councilmember Christensen was absent.
Brett Salzwedal of CMBA presented a quote for As-Built 3-D digital scans of the Civic Complex. Councilmember Richter moved and Councilmember Adams seconded a motion to proceed with the contract for the digital scans; the motion passed unanimously among those present.
Councilmember Smith introduced Resolution No. 29-2026, which the council approved by roll call. The resolution authorizes the transfer of not to exceed $280,159.00 of excess General Fund dollars to park improvements — including allocations for Abbie Gardner improvements and OAR property improvements — and authorizes a transfer from the Water Utility Fund for water improvements. The roll call vote was recorded as Ayes: Pas, Richter, Smith, Adams; Nays: none; Absent: Christensen. The meeting transcript contains a typographical error listing the water fund amount as "$125,00.00"; the council recorded the transfer as a not-to-exceed $125,000 for the Water Utility Fund transfer (see clarifying details).
The council then approved a motion to adjourn; Mayor Hussong declared the meeting adjourned at 2:48 p.m.
