The Chester Municipal Electric Light Department on April 2 reviewed employee accrual time and approved the accruals with an exception for additional review of interim manager Rosanne McClaflin’s vacation balance, according to the meeting minutes.
Rosanne McClaflin told commissioners that employee accrual time was ready to be provided to GSA and the Town Administrator and that she was short on vacation hours from previous years; the board approved the accruals but asked for an additional review of McClaflin’s time.
Selectman Craig Gauthier proposed that CMELD and the Highway Department share a dumpster to reduce costs; commissioners asked staff to research specific cost-savings and return findings at a future meeting.
The minutes also record maintenance issues: a CMELD digger is experiencing mechanical problems and will be evaluated by Quality Fleet Services, and a Ford pickup leaking fluid was taken to Sarat Ford for warranty repairs. Commissioners briefly discussed job descriptions and general manager duties but tabled the job-posting discussion until the next meeting.
Chairman Deryck Savoy moved to adjourn at 8:07 p.m.; Commissioner Beth Lansing seconded the motion. The meeting minutes were submitted by Rosanne McClaflin and bear approval dates of April 30, 2026.
