Board member John Scott to leave CT Paid Leave Authority on May 15

Board member John Scott announced during the CT Paid Leave Authority Finance and Audit Committee meeting on April 25 that he will resign from the authority’s board of directors effective May 15.
"I have made the decision that I'm going to leave the paid family leave board of directors effective May 15th," John Scott said, explaining that he is now a full-time Florida resident and believes it is inappropriate for a nonresident to serve on a body that has taxing authority over Connecticut citizens. He said he has served since the authority’s early days and that it was "a fun and interesting ride."
Committee members thanked Scott for his service; Chair Ellen McKerick and other members noted he was one of the original board members and expressed appreciation for his oversight on finances and contributions to civil discourse on the board.
Next steps: Scott said he will serve through May 15 so the appropriate appointing authority has time to name a replacement. The committee did not take any formal action at the meeting to fill the vacancy.
