Mount Kisco ARB approves exterior alterations at 140 Forest Drive

The Mount Kisco Architectural Review Board on Feb. 19 approved drawings for exterior alterations at 140 Forest Drive after the homeowners described revisions to windows, the front entry and roofline.
Homeowner Stephen Farrell told the board he and his wife, Mizuho Farrell, revised the second-floor window plan to provide two larger egress windows with a smaller window between them and will retain the existing bay window over the garage. Chairman James MacDonald noted the roofline now “steps down just a little bit” rather than running continuously and reminded the applicants of typical cantilever practice; Mr. Farrell said the roof over the entry will be cantilevered and may not extend as far as the stoop. The applicants said the soffit will be returned with flat vinyl material.
Board members sought clarity on window proportions and the entry articulation before final construction but approved the drawings as submitted. Kenneth Brettschneider made the motion to approve; Andrea Eisenberg seconded. The motion passed with the board recording unanimous support.
The decision finishes ARB review for the elevations presented; any substantive changes to the articulated entry, soffit material, or window profiles should be brought back to the Board for confirmation.
