Cordele, Ga. — The Cordele City Commission recognized the Chris County High School track and field team on June 16 for its conference and state meet achievements. City leaders called the appearance an honor and read the names of students and the coach, and said a formal proclamation will be prepared for a future meeting.
Among the athletes called were Tamara Johnson, Nehemiah Clark, Noah Coleman, James Grant, Mason Harris, Tylen Hill, Jared Kendrick, Gregory Puit, Richard Thomas and others. The mayor highlighted several state-level finishes and singled out Richard Thomas for a state title in the triple jump noted at the meeting.
The commission and mayor congratulated the students and coaches and invited them to return for a formal proclamation when the school year schedule allows.
