Danbury City awards road maintenance unit-price contract to All States Construction

Charles J. Volpe, purchasing agent for Danbury City, told the Board of Awards on April 15 that All States Construction, doing business as Gorman Brothers, was the sole bidder on Bid #03-25-26-03, the cityannual unit-price contract for road maintenance and surfacing. Volpe said unit prices rose between 5% and 17%, reflecting recent increases in oil, a major input in materials.
T. Nolan, superintendent of public services, moved to award the bid to All States Construction, contingent upon execution of the required contract. D. Garrick, finance director, seconded the motion; the Board carried it unanimously. Volpe noted the contract award is contingent on executing the required contract documents.
