On Feb. 6, 2025, the City of Hart Planning Commission approved its 2024 annual report and added the Planning Commission bylaws to the document before forwarding it as accepted.
Chair Betty Root moved to approve the 2024 annual report with the addition of the commission bylaws; Diane LaPorte supported the motion and the vote was 5‑0 with one absence. The report summarized meeting counts, text amendments, site plans, special land uses and plats for 2020–2024, recorded member attendance, and listed 2024 reviews including a Dollar General site plan and a PUD amendment and replat.
The commission also identified 2025 goals: continuing Redevelopment Ready Community initiatives; revisiting the food‑truck ordinance; drafting a short‑term rental ordinance; regularly reviewing existing ordinances; exploring a form‑based overlay district; and filling a commission vacancy. Commissioners noted upcoming events including a joint City Council retreat scheduled for March 1 and the Frozen Tinman golf outing on Feb. 8.
The accepted report will be transmitted to the City Council as the Planning Commission’s official annual summary and work program for 2025.
