Port Barre board unanimously hires police officer, accepts FY2023–24 audit and files MWPP report

The Town of Port Barre Board of Aldermen unanimously approved several administrative actions at its April 1, 2025 regular meeting, including hiring a full-time police officer, accepting the municipal audit for fiscal 2023'24, raising the capital asset threshold and filing an environmental audit report.
Susie Hebert moved and Donalo Rob'n seconded a motion to accept the minutes for the regular meetings of Feb. 4 and March 4, 2025 and to dispense with their reading; the board approved the motion unanimously. Donalo Rob'n moved and Ronnie Kimble seconded the hire of a full-time, non-post certified police officer on the recommendation of Chief Boudreaux; that motion carried unanimously.
Ronnie Kimble moved and Susie Hebert seconded acceptance of the audit for the fiscal year Oct. 1, 2023 through Sept. 30, 2024, which was presented by the auditing firm Kolder, Slaven & Company; the board voted to accept the audit unanimously. The council also approved, on the auditors' recommendation, raising the town's capital asset threshold to $2,500.
The board adopted a resolution to submit the Municipal Water Pollution Prevention (MWPP) Environmental-Audit Report covering Jan. through Dec. 2024 after a motion by Ronnie Kimble and second by Susie Hebert; the resolution passed unanimously.
All motions recorded in the minutes were approved without recorded opposition. The board accepted all financial and departmental reports by motion of Donalo Rob'n, seconded by Ronnie Kimble. The meeting concluded with a unanimous motion to adjourn.
