Stephen Traynum of Coastal Science and Engineering briefed the Council on the completion of the dune restoration dredging on March 6, 2025. He reported the Army Corps of Engineers placed about 220,000 cubic yards of sand on the beach at no cost to the Town and provided photos of the finished dunes.
Traynum described the sand quality as "fair," noting that some material was left on the low-tide line with the expectation that natural migration would move it onto the beach over time. He suggested potential future projects to enhance dune stability and took questions from council members.
Council did not take formal action on the dune presentation on April 15 but received the update and requested continued coordination with federal partners on future shoreline resilience work.
