Teachers demonstrate Mimo board use for engagement, video read-alouds and interactive lessons

A district technology demonstration showcased how teachers are using Mimo boards and web apps to manage instruction and engage students. Presenters described examples such as Padlet projects where fifth graders record read-aloud videos for younger students, ClassroomScreen routines used to display flow maps and small-group assignments, and Play Store educational apps integrated into lessons.
One presenter said teachers used Padlet to have students videotape read-alouds and then share those recordings with second graders; another described ClassroomScreen as a daily tool that shows tasks, group assignments and timers. Presenters also demonstrated interactive 360° videos for STEM and described a new shared-collection feature that lets teachers reuse boards and lessons across classrooms. "We're really hoping that sometime it would sync up with Google Slides because a lot of us have Google Slides already," a presenter said, noting current workarounds.
Staff emphasized that Mimo boards have improved student engagement for small-group instruction, and that on-the-spot tech support from the district tech lead has made classroom adoption easier. They said progress is incremental — "baby steps" — and highlighted plans for more collaborative lesson planning, resource sharing and targeted training so teachers can plan ahead rather than troubleshoot during lessons.
