Morristown schedules IDEM landfill expansion hearing March 16; attorney presents opinion on Crossroads Eco Center petition

Town Attorney Briane House told the council he had prepared and presented an opinion letter concerning a petition filed by CGS Services Inc., doing business as Crossroads Eco Center, which requests vertical expansion of an existing landfill. The attorney’s letter was entered into the meeting record and noted as council reference material ahead of the scheduled hearing.
Council took no final vote on the landfill petition at the Feb. 11 meeting; the announced March hearing will provide the public and the council an opportunity to review technical materials and testimony before any formal council action is requested.
