Board sets student last day as June 18, approves 180 student days in close 4–3 vote

Board members also discussed that June 19 (Juneteenth) would fall during the teacher work year and committed to planning culturally appropriate recognition for the day.
What happens next: the district will publish the adjusted calendar and remind families and staff of the final school and staff days and will include cultural acknowledgement for Juneteenth activities planned for staff and students.
