Commission hears July aerification plan, course-repair updates and national recognition

Staff noted the rings help preserve hole integrity through high round counts, but require correct insertion to avoid affecting putt lines; learning-curve issues were discussed and staff said they check rings daily.
Members also noted national recognition for the renovation: Golf Inc. ranked the project among top public-course renovations and Golf Digest included the course as an honorable mention in a renovation category. Commissioners discussed displaying recognitions in the clubhouse or on the website.
Haynes and the chair also discussed winter‑season cup placement and potential operational tweaks used at other courses; the commission considered the tradeoffs but did not adopt any formal changes. The meeting concluded after brief comments about junior programming and other operating items.
