Demorest, Ga. — The Demorest City Council on Aug. 5 approved purchasing a used 2019 Ford Explorer with 44,481 miles to serve as a School Resource Officer vehicle.
City staff said the purchase price is $17,728.99. The city will title the vehicle and the county has agreed to reimburse the cost; the probation account will front the payment pending reimbursement. Councilman Jimmy Davis moved to approve the purchase; Councilman Andrew Ferguson seconded, and the council approved the motion unanimously (4-0).
The minutes record the approval and the planned county reimbursement; staff will complete the purchase and billing to the county.
