District reports 254 HIB investigations in 2024–25; 73 confirmed, self‑assessment scores high

Deo said that during the 2024–25 school year the district reported and investigated 254 acts alleged as harassment, intimidation and bullying; of those, 73 were confirmed as HIB under the statute. She described the figures as a reduction in investigations from the prior year and credited anti‑bullying specialists and staff for prevention and reporting work.
The board approved the district’s self‑assessment submission by roll call during the meeting. The board indicated it will continue efforts to monitor and reduce incidents and to report compliance as required by the NJDOE.
