Chardon City Council unanimously votes to enter executive session on personnel matters

The Chardon City Council voted unanimously to enter an executive session to discuss personnel matters after convening a special session that began at about 6:28 p.m., the meeting’s presiding official said.

The action came after the presiding official announced agenda item No. 4: "to consider the appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, or compensation of a public employee or official." The official said Amy Day, the clerk of council, and Ben Young, the city manager, would be invited into the closed session.

A motion to go into executive session was made and seconded. The council then conducted a roll-call vote; each councilmember answered in the affirmative: Mr. Blackley, Mrs. Chuha, Mr. Gra, Mr. Lo, Mr. Martin, Miss Means and Mr. Mleski. The presiding official confirmed the unanimous vote and the public meeting moved into the executive session.
