Cochran council approves grants, small contracts and schedules retreat; receives $90,150 energy dividend

At its Dec. 10 meeting the Cochran City Council approved several administrative and grant actions in a single block of consent and discussion items.
Mayor Billy Yeomans, representing the city on the Mid‑State Energy Board, presented City Manager Richard Newbern with a $90,150 dividend check from the Mid‑State Energy Organization. Council accepted the funds.

Public comments at the meeting included Chamber of Commerce representative Melissa Barker outlining upcoming downtown events and promotions, Vanessa Sanders raising concerns about recycling operations at the dump and proposing community cleanup/Angel Tree programs, and Mike Stoy urging infrastructure improvements and better meeting facilities.
