Cochran council to begin billing Recreation Department for utilities starting next fiscal year

Summerall proposed the city begin billing the department at the government rate, consistent with other subsidized entities such as the library.
Councilmember Shane Savant objected to implementing the change in the middle of the fiscal year, saying the Recreation Department needs time to adjust its budget. Councilmember Carla Coley agreed and recommended aligning the start of billing with the department's fiscal year. The council voted to implement the billing beginning at the Recreation Department's next fiscal year so the department could prepare financially.
