Sue Stewart was elected chair of the Harbor Springs Planning Commission after members moved and approved the nomination by roll call. The commission approved minutes from its Nov. 12 meeting and adopted a 2026 schedule that keeps meetings on the second Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m., with an application deadline at noon on the preceding month’s deadline day.
The chair asked for public comment and correspondence and was told none had been received. Commissioners said they expect no February meeting unless an application arrives by the February deadline; a March 11 meeting was noted as likely if an application is submitted.
Commissioners also reviewed the commission’s bylaws as part of an annual check. Staff said they had asked Jim Rymer to review the bylaws and that Rymer made no recommendations for changes tied to the zoning enabling act, so no formal amendment was brought forward during the session.
The meeting lasted only a short time, and commissioners adjourned after covering these routine items.
