Otis board approves liquor license transfer and renewals; rescue services transition set for Jan. 1

At its Nov. 25 meeting the Otis Selectboard approved the transfer of a liquor license for 1570 North Main Road from Otis Poultry Farm to Stone Barn LLC and approved a slate of liquor‑license renewals.
Terry Gould moved to approve the license transfer; Larry Southard seconded and the motion passed 3‑0. The board then moved to approve renewals for L & M Auto (retail), Otis Poultry Farm (retail), Knox Trail Bar & Grill Corp. (innholder), Otis Liquor Inc. (retail) and Otis Ridge Ski Area LLC (common victualler). The motion to approve renewals passed; the board recorded a standard abstention by Larry Southard on the renewal for L & M Auto because it is his business (exact vote tally for that item was not specified in the minutes).
Separately, the board agreed to resume regular town audio recordings (smaller file size than Zoom recordings) and to keep those audio files indefinitely; a board member suggested that speakers state their names on recordings to aid later review. The board also heard an unscheduled update from Chris Bouchard that rescue services are scheduled to begin operating under the Town on Jan. 1, 2026, and that Brittany Phair has handled administrative tasks for the transition.
