The Town of Otis Selectboard approved a transfer of a retail liquor license for Otis Racing Mart Inc. during its Nov. 12, 2025 meeting, with Gary Thomas moving to approve and Terry Gould seconding; the motion passed 2-0 with Larry Southard recused.
Board members said confusion on the prior application had prevented final approval earlier. The updated submission corrected typographical errors and removed a required pledge. Matthew Porter, representing Otis Racing Mart Inc., clarified the intended ownership and management structure during the discussion.
Thomas made the motion to approve the transfer and Gould seconded; the meeting minutes record the vote as 2-0 in favor. The board noted that the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission (ABCC) is the next step for state approval and that, according to meeting remarks, an ABCC decision is anticipated early next year.
The Selectboard took no further action beyond approving the transfer and recording the vote; the town will forward the corrected application to the ABCC for final licensing action.
