Later in the public-comment period, Richard Liil of Pine Beach, who identified himself as a teacher at High School North, presented detailed examples alleging that certain claims under district plans were being reimbursed at unexpectedly low "allowed" amounts (he contrasted examples of $160 vs. $225 reimbursements across member plans and the TRBP/TRPPP plan). Liil said the pattern extended into 2024 and requested a meeting with district staff and examination by the insurance committee. District staff (Jennifer) said they are looking into the matter, agreed to set up a meeting and to bring the issue to the insurance committee.
The board did not take action on the removal motion at this meeting; the motion will appear on next week’s agenda as required by NJSA and board policy 0145. Staff committed to follow up with Liil and to open the insurance records review with district representatives.
