Minuteman school committee temporarily swaps subcommittee member for superintendent contract negotiations, votes to enter executive session

The Minuteman Regional Vocational Technical School Committee voted unanimously to temporarily remove Charlene Cabral from the superintendent negotiation and evaluation subcommittee and add Alice Duca so the group can meet an accelerated, largely in‑person negotiation schedule. Chair Jeff said the change was "a scheduling issue only" and limited "solely for the purpose of superintendent contract negotiations."

The committee debated the timing and format of the negotiations, noting that the sessions would be short, concentrated, and held in person at Minute Man (the regional vocational facility), after which the subcommittee would return to Zoom for its regular evaluation work. A member asked whether the meetings would be in person throughout the process; the chair and other members replied that the in‑person meetings were intended to be limited and focused on negotiating the contract.

Following that motion, the committee voted to enter executive session under Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 30A, §21(a)(2) to "discuss strategy as it relates to contract negotiations with non‑union personnel," and specifically authorized inclusion of Heidi and Julia in the executive session. The chair made the motion and the committee approved it by roll call.

The temporary subcommittee change, the executive‑session authorization and the recorded roll‑call votes were the meeting's formal actions on the superintendent search and negotiation process. The committee indicated the substitution is short term and intended to ensure an adequate membership for in‑person negotiation meetings.
