The Village of East Hampton Board of Trustees held its organizational meeting July 1, 2026, and approved a slate of annual governance items, budget amendments and appointments.
Trustees adopted Resolution 299 setting regular meetings for FY 2026–27 (third Fridays) and work sessions as needed (first Thursdays at 11 a.m.) at the Emergency Services Building, with the mayor authorized to reschedule meetings consistent with legal posting requirements.
The board approved several budget amendments increasing appropriations from the unappropriated fund balance: $134,428.63 for Village Hall (Resolution 318), $127,663.55 for the fire department (Resolution 319), $112,219.47 for EMS (Resolution 320), and a combined $724,818.45 for highway, central garage and police (Resolution 321). Trustees also approved estimated revenue and appropriations of $157,208.27 for the antique barn project (Resolution 322) and accepted a $157,208.27 donation from the East Hampton Fire Department to fund construction of the antique barn at 2 Gingerbread Lane Extension (amendment to Resolution 170/2026).
The board confirmed staffing and governance appointments, including the appointment of Carrie Doyle and Jason Tuma as village trustees (Resolutions 302 and 303), reappointments and leadership designations for zoning, planning and design review boards, and the appointment of Pearl Hill LLP as village attorneys at an annual sum of $125,000 effective August 1, 2026 (Resolution 327). The board authorized the village attorney's office to represent the village boards in proceedings and approved an updated procurement policy authorizing the mayor and village administrator to execute certain contract amendments and change orders up to 10% of total contract price.
Several capital and procurement items were approved, including quotes for a new 14‑foot garage door and relocation work, hydraulic components for truck chassis, curb and gutter work on Pond View Lane, and a $358,295 reconstruction and paving contract amendment for Pond View Lane. Trustees also rejected all bids for the street lighting contract and set a new bidder timeline with a July 14 bid opening at Village Hall.
Most items were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote; the meeting transcript records the board collectively saying "Aye" and "Passed and carried" on motions. The trustees closed the meeting after completing the agenda.
Documents and resolution numbers were read into the record during the session; the transcript does not record detailed roll‑call vote tallies for each motion.
