The North Berwick Select Board on Feb. 17 adopted an amendment to the town’s Traffic Ordinance adding a “No Thru Trucks” sign on Oakwoods Road (Route 4 to Bauneg Beg Hill Road). Chairperson Wendy Cowan opened the public hearing; no residents spoke and the board voted 5-0 to adopt the change effective when the signage is posted.
The board recorded a series of routine, unanimous votes. Selectperson Charles Galemmo moved to approve the minutes of Feb. 3, 2026; that motion passed 5-0. The board approved abatements of uncollectable personal-property tax accounts totaling $12,291.45 after a motion from Selectperson Jonathan Hall; Selectperson Charles Galemmo seconded and the motion passed 5-0.
On procurement and municipal materials, the board accepted a quote from Libby Scott for road material pricing (reported at $90–$93 per ton) and authorized work consistent with the town’s $100-per-ton budget assumption; the motion passed 5-0. The Select Board also approved the Town Report cover showing Bauneg Beg North and South trails and voted to sign a thank-you letter to Senator Collins after securing funding for the new fire station; both motions passed unanimously.
Zoning-related decisions were split: following legal review, the board voted 5-0 to table a proposal to redefine designated growth areas and to forward two other zoning questions (a bed-and-breakfast definition amendment and Event Center provisions) to the Town Clerk for inclusion in the ballot process.
Finally, the board accepted warrants for Feb. 11 ($11,289.64) and Feb. 17 ($794,552.48) and adjourned at 7:47 p.m. All recorded motions in the minutes carried on unanimous 5-0 votes.
