Fairfield County commissioners approve 11 resolutions including equipment lease, facility lease amendment and grant appropriations

The Fairfield County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously on June 23 to approve 11 resolutions covering appropriations, an equipment lease with the City of Lancaster, a lease amendment with Fresenius Medical Care and several grants and departmental actions.
On a motion from Commissioner Jeff Fix and a second from Commissioner David Levacy, the Board approved routine appropriations entries and memo transactions for interest allocation reimbursements; the roll-call votes were recorded as unanimous (Jeff Fix, David Levacy and Steve Davis voting aye).
Key approvals included an equipment lease agreement with the City of Lancaster to allow county use of a chip spreader, centennial distributor and rubber-tire roller to support chip-seal operations; County Engineer Jeremiah Upp said the county already owns one set of equipment and that leasing additional equipment will allow two crews to operate simultaneously, improving operational efficiency. The Board also approved an amendment to the lease with Fresenius Medical Care Lancaster Nephrology Investments, LLC d/b/a Fresenius Kidney Care Hocking Hills for space at the Levacy Center.
Other actions approved by the Board included appropriations and budgeting actions for the Emergency Management Agency (state disaster relief program), Job and Family Services purchase-of-service agreements, juvenile court grant amendments with the Ohio Department of Youth Services, and appropriation requests related to the 2026 Recovery Ohio grant for the South Central Major Crimes Unit.
Why it matters: The resolutions authorize operational and contractual steps that affect county services, road maintenance capability, facility leasing and the administration of federal and state grant funds. The equipment lease and facility-lease amendment were discussed in the Review meeting preceding the vote.
