Caseville council approves fall market, July street event, reappointments and a reduced vendor fee

The Caseville City Council on May 12 approved several event permits, board appointments and a temporary reduction in vending fees for a local vendor.
Council approved the Witch Crafters Art Market at Wooded Island on Oct. 25, 2025 (motion by Sprague, second by Hervert; vote 4-1 with Councilmember Kenneth Rathje opposed). The council also approved a Dolly Parton-themed event on July 26, 2025 that will require closing Pine St. from Main to the parking-lot entrance between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.; that motion passed 5-0.
By Resolution #2025-29 the council allowed Traci Ens to host an event at 6815 Main St. on May 31, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., permitting up to three food vendors at a reduced fee of $100 each; the resolution passed 5-0. Traci Ens addressed the council during public comment to thank members for the approval.
The council reappointed Amy Redwantz and Kevin Stachowiak to the Caseville Downtown Development Authority with terms ending April 2029 and appointed Gerald Dekker to the Planning Commission with a term ending September 2027; those motions carried 5-0.
Public comment included Louis Johnson noting façade improvements at Jade's Closet funded through a DDA Façade Grant and a Historical Society member suggesting a Dolly Parton memorabilia exhibit during the summer event.
