Carman-Ainsworth outlines classroom AI use and plans academic AI policy

She said the forthcoming policy will be a framework to ensure AI is used safely and ethically across grade levels.
Board members did not take a vote on the AI policy at the meeting. Nathan’s presentation framed the issue as an operational and instructional priority; she recommended staff develop guidelines, training and safeguards before broader classroom rollout. No timeline for drafting or further board review was specified in the meeting minutes.
The district’s next regular meeting is set for Sept. 16, where the board may request follow-up materials or a timeline as staff work on the policy.
