Carleton council approves $1.317 million in bills, green-lights GIS purchase and homecoming parade

The Carleton Village Council on Sept. 3 approved bills totaling $1,317,145.13 and passed several routine motions, including authorization for a GIS equipment purchase and permission for a high school homecoming parade.
Councilmember Terry Burkardt moved to approve the bills of $1,317,145.13, a motion supported by Councilmember James Geiermann; the roll-call vote recorded five yes votes and one absence (Lena Kaczmarek absent), and the motion passed. The council also approved the Aug. 12 minutes and adopted the agenda by voice vote earlier in the meeting.
Councilmember Dave Klavon moved to allow the Airport High School Homecoming Parade on Sept. 20 at 5 p.m.; the motion, supported by James Geiermann, passed on voice vote. Later, after a presentation on a proposed geographic information system for village infrastructure, Klavon moved to purchase GIS equipment not to exceed $5,500; Geiermann supported the motion and council voted unanimously by voice to approve the purchase.
The votes were procedural and carried without recorded opposition. The council adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
