Bridgman Planning Commission approves Master Plan survey, seeks more details in Chapter 8

The Commission approved a revised Master Plan community survey to be mailed next week with a March 6, 2026 return deadline and asked staff to add DPW to the survey and locations of food banks to strengthen Goal 8 coverage.
The Bridgman City Planning Commission approved the Master Plan community survey Feb. 19 and directed staff to incorporate recommended edits before mailing. Building/Zoning Official Mattner reviewed the draft survey and a concurrent review of Chapter 8 goals conducted with consultant Williams & Works.
Commissioners asked that the Department of Public Works be added to Section 33 of the survey and that the locations of local food banks be included to better reflect Goal 8, which commissioners said is underrepresented in the draft. Mattner said the survey is expected to be finalized, packaged and mailed mid-next week, with a return deadline of March 6, 2026, and that survey information will be posted on the community sign, the school marquee and the city website. Mattner also said he will continue refining Chapter 8 and will email the updated draft to the Commission for further review.
The approval was unanimous by voice vote. Commissioners and staff characterized Chapter 8 as a working document; all 17 stated goals will be retained although some may be reorganized or reworded following survey results.
